Australia continues to ride the resource boom, posting a GDP growth rate of 2.3% in 2009-10. Bilateral trade with largest trade partner China increased by more than 45% from 2009 to 2010, reaching USD 88.1 bn. Investment activities remain robust with sustained interest in mining and increasing interest in agro-processing, renewable energy and other sectors. However, concerns loom over a fluctuating Australian economy, over-reliance on China and skill shortages.
