| Chemicals Sourcing from China for an Int’l Chemical Distributor |
|
Objective The company previously sourced chemicals from China through trading houses and occasionally encountered problems with both quality and price. In order to secure their supplies, they approached The Beijing Axis to identify suitable original manufacturers. Methodology The Beijing Axis studied the market in China for the 13 products listed by the client and short-listed the top 5-10 producers in China for each product. By means of a strict filtering process which included extensive communication, attendance of exhibitions, factory visits, interviews, price comparisons, etc., The Beijing Axis investigated the suppliers' industry reputation and track record, especially considering the huge potential risk of chemical sourcing. The Beijing Axis generated a comprehensive report to introduce the findings. For each product, The Beijing Axis provided to the client an industry overview, a universe list of suppliers, initial quotations, company profiles and recommendations of suitable suppliers. Outcome The company visited the recommended suppliers in China, with arrangements for the visit undertaken by The Beijing Axis, who accompanied the client. The company subsequently gave favourable impressions of The Beijing Axis' work, and has now started to build up a long-term business relationship with the suppliers. |
