On 26 January 2011, Nikita Popov, Senior Consultant at The Beijing Axis, was extensively quoted in an article that appeared on the BBC website's business news section.
Written by Konstantin Rozhnov, the article discussed Russia's emerging trade in natural resources with China and prospects for the future. Lilian Luca, MD of Beijing Axis Procurement, was also quoted in the article.

TBA at the China International Nuclear Symposium in Beijing

On 23-25 November 2010, the first China International Nuclear Symposium was held at the Grand Hyatt in Beijing. Barry van Wyk, Consultant: The Beijing Axis, and Hattie Peng, Marketing Specialist: The Beijing Axis, attended the event and also manned a small booth for TBA at the event. This was the first event of its kind in China, a nuclear symposium drawing together leading academics, government officials and other dignitaries in the nuclear field. The symposium touched on various nuclear-related issues ranging from the global and Chinese nuclear industries, the uranium supply chain, the latest nuclear technology, nuclear fuel recycling, and nuclear enrichment. The event was jointly organised by the World Nuclear Association and the China Nuclear Energy Association.

Doug Horak, Manager: Business Development, Australia, in his capacity as Vice President of the Australia Africa Business Council attended a lecture by Anne Plunkett, Chief of Protocol at the Australian Departement of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on 27 October 2010 at the annual Western Australia Consular Corps Reception.
Ms Plunkett spoke of the challenges faced by their department with the inbound travel of foreign dignatories to Australia and of their continued efforts to ensure that these international visitors had a streamlined process allowing them to maximise the opportunity for interaction with various government departments and also the Australian commercial sector.
The event was well represented with over 40 local consular officials in attendance.
CIPS Australia – Sustainabilty Challenges in Low Cost Country Sourcing, 27 October 2010

Doug Horak, Business Development Manager, Australia of THE BEIJING AXIS, attended a breakfast event entitled 'Sustainability Challenges in Low Cost Country Sourcing' which was hosted by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) of Western Australia.
The keynote address was delivered by Jim Beveridge, General Manager: Global Supply & Logistics, Westfarmers Industrial & Saftey. Jim is a Director of Westfarmers and established the company's sourcing and supply chain hubs in Mainland China.
While the speaker did not focus solely on China as a partner for low cost sourcing, he drew on his experince with China to explain the challenges faced by Westfarmers and the procedures put in place to minimise risk and its impact on their supply chain. It was honest insight into Westfarmer's experience with low cost country sourcing, and while Jim admintted there are a number of challenges on the ground in China, his biggest challenge continues to be attaining buy-in from Westfarmer employees who are the ones using the products sourced out of these countries.
