Forecasts and the resulting strategic framework were compiled through appraisals of the Chinese economic and societal macro-environment, the Chinese Steel Industry and the industrial sectors that are presently the main drivers of steel demand in China. The report's 2006 steel production forecast for China was off the mark by less than 1%, closer than any of the forecasts made by the major investment banks. |
