Strategic consulting and operational support to a Chinese SOE operating in South Africa Desired Outcome Ensure continued survival and timeous completion of a critically strategic project by providing high-level strategic consulting and operational support to a large Chinese SOE operating in South Africa for the first time. Methodology A systematic and sequential 4-stage approach was adopted for the consulting project. 1) Undertake comprehensive analysis into understanding the causal drivers of the problems faced by the project. 2) Develop multi-tiered implementable strategic solutions aimed at efficiently addressing the identified problems. Outcome Detailed documentation for each stage was presented to senior management and the project team. From this documentation, the project team and THE BEIJING AXIS closely collaborated on a regular basis to ensure that the strategic and operational solutions were acted upon. As a result of consulting services offered by THE BEIJING AXIS, the project has been allowed to continue. Significant time and cost gains have been achieved, with a number of the principal problems faced by the project being overcome. Both South African and Chinese interested parties have also effected significant changes to their initial project strategies as they developed a far greater understanding of each other and the greater South African work environment. THE BEIJING AXIS continues to consult on the project. |
